Providenciales | Amanyara

WHY: Girls Getaway
WHEN: Summer 2015
WHO: Lauren's daughter Lily
- DETAILS, DETAILS -
TYPE: Beach Resort.
ROOMS: Amanyara has a collection of sleek, sexy pavilions and private villas either offering a private pool, overlooking the clear blue waters of the coast or nestled into a corner of the marine reserve that sprawls throughout the property. Each pavilion overlooking the reserve has an overhanging terrace that jets out into the water where you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner in the privacy of the room. The hotel is perfectly minimalist and incredibly private.
POOL/GYM: Amanyara has an incredible infinity pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Settle on a day bed and stay to watch the sunset, while the sky's colors reflect in the pool's surface. The resort gym is fully equipped and private sessions with a personal trainer can be arranged. There are also onsite yoga and Pilates classes, tennis courts, a soccer field and complimentary guided hikes throughout the resort grounds. The hotel also has a golf simulator and a volleyball court.
RESTAURANT: The hotel restaurant provides many different dining settings. Our favorite place to have dinner was outside by the pool, underneath the stars. The food is Asian influenced and entrees feature freshly-caught seafood and organic vegetables from the hotel's vegetable garden. Lunch is at the casual Beach Club, which utilizes a stone oven to create innovative, Caribbean-inspired dishes. The wine list is one of the best that you'll find in the islands, featuring exotic wines from all over the world!
VIBE: Secluded and private, appealing to those who want to be a world away but can't travel far. Intimate, chic, romantic and quiet are all words that come to mind.
BAR: Evening cocktails are served in the open-air pavilion overlooking the infinity pool and emerald coastal waters. Drinks highlight fresh and local ingredients. Our favorite is the Basil Dazzle, a simple drink with just basil, vodka, lime and ice.
SPA: The spa is comprised of four spa pavilions surrounded by a reflection pond. From the moment you arrive, there is an immediate calming effect – you’re transformed even before your treatment. The spa offers a variety of relaxing treatments and products utilizing the surrounding plants and herbs, harvesting their medicinal properties.
KIDS: Absolutely! Lily (Lauren’s one-year-old daughter) was the guest of honor. Everywhere she went she was greeted with open arms and warm smiles. In-room amenities were incredible – inclusive of California baby products, a changing area, a crib with a stuffed friend and a diaper genie to make things even more pleasant. Kids meals were delicious and fresh. At night, babysitting services were offered.
LOCATION: The hotel is located on the west side of the island, just a 30-minute drive from the airport down a private dirt road.

- A FEW THING -
Waking up at the resort feels like waking up in Thailand or Bali, surrounded by reflective pools, open-air structures and crystal clear water. Amanyara appeals to a variety of guests, whether it's a romantic honeymoon, a girl’s trip or a family renting one of the property's large villas. It manages to be polished but laid-back and guests are encouraged to make themselves at home in any part of the property. The open-air pavilions and the gentle breeze create a sense of tranquility, which is a feeling present throughout your stay. Even at full occupancy, privacy and the quality of service are never sacrificed. The beach at Amanyara is pristine, and just in front is the renowned reef of Northwest Point Marine National Park. The hotel pool is equally gorgeous. The two of us spent the entire day lounging on the day beds, listening to the waves crash while sipping on mojitos.
