Connecticut | Mayflower Grace
- DETAILS, DETAILS -
TYPE: A boutique country retreat with a serious spa (one of the finest in New England)
ROOMS: 30 rooms & suites in four cottages: Mayflower House, Speedwell Cottage, Standish Cottage, and the Allerton Cottage.
SPA: The 20,000 square foot spa is the heart of the hotel. Spa House offers 4 fully equipped exercise studios including a private pilates studio and an outdoor yoga and meditation garden.
POOL: The outdoor pool is heated and open from May through October. The Spa House Pool is in the spa's Aquatic Center and uses bromine in the water, which is gentler on skin and hair than chlorine and heated to a cozy 86F year round.
GYM/WELLNESS: The state of the art gym is open daily. The Mayflower Grace also offers a professional five hole putting green as well as a tennis court on the hill above the hotel. Hiking, biking, kayaking, fly-fishing, archery, tennis and nature walks are right outside the back door. The gardens and labyrinth are used for meditation, outdoor yoga and guided afternoon walks.
VIBE: The place to go when you want to be absolutely, sublimely pampered. A great mix of NYC couples, New England residents looking to staycation, girlfriends looking to get away (us!), and international visitors.
AMENITIES: We love the gorgeous Red Flower's Icelandic Moonflower amenities that can be found in all rooms and throughout the spa.
RESTAURANT: Muse by Jonathan Cartwright is the hotel's new fine dining restaurant created by Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux Jonathan Cartwright. The menu changes seasonally and draws inspiration from the local cuisine and ingredients of Connecticut and New England. For pre or post dinner drinks or light meals in a casual pub-style environment, stop by the the Tap Room.
WIFI: Complimentary high-speed internet access in rooms and suites.
KIDS: Leave them at home. Save the Mayflower Grace for romantic getaways and spa trips with girlfriends.
LOCATION: Two hours drive from New York City in idyllic Washington, CT.
- A few things -
20,000 square foot of heaven on earth. The Mayflower Spa is styled more like a gorgeous art gallery than a traditional spa, just the place to go when you want to be absolutely, sublimely pampered.
Come for a night or two, enjoy Grand Chef Jonathan Cartwright's locavore cuisine, but make sure you devote an entire day to enjoy the spa. Because anything else would be a mistake.
