TYPE: Country estate and New Zealand's largest private residence.
RESTAURANT: Chef Jimmy creates a five-course menu each night with local ingredients and produce grown in the garden on property, with accompanying wine pairings. Guests can dine together in the Victorian dining room or can opt for more privacy in the sunken wine cellar, library or the the drawing room turret.
BAR: No bar on property but guests can request beverages at anytime of the day. Pre-dinner drinks are served every night in the drawing room at 6:00pm.
SPA: Massages of varying lengths, styles, and treatment types available.
POOL/GYM: Outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi, along with a small gym.
VIBE: Traditional elegance with New Zealand charm.
GARDENS: The Otahuna's beautiful 118-year old labyrinth of gardens is the setting for many of the property's activities, including tennis, croquet, and petanque.
ROOMS: Graciously appointed spacious suites renovated to their original style. Each suite has its own identity, with unique decorations and features. All suites feature large, modern bathrooms with deep soaking bathtubs and separate showers.

Famous for its fields of daffodils, the property hosts the local Daffodil Day, an annual event where locals and visitors come to enjoy the flowers, as well as locally-sourced food.
The area features an expansive variety of outdoor activities, everything from hiking to waterfall exploration. Guests can visit a working sheep farm, ride horses, or go fly-fishing on one of Canterbury's many rivers. One of the lodge's most unique features is its helicopter tours: there are several scenic itineraries to choose from, and tours depart directly from the front lawn.
