Georgia | The Cloister at Sea Island
- Details, details -
TYPE: An amazing hotel with room options that cater to every type of traveler
ROOMS: Huge, luxurious rooms with suites big enough for families. Rooms at the Lodge cater to golfers (but do not miss the nightly bag-pipe player!). The Cloister is a traditional hotel and the Beach Club gives immediate access to the ocean just feet away.
POOL/GYM/SPA: The nicest hotel gym and spa that I have ever seen. The hotel clearly understands that their clients want luxury and they provide it, with several outdoor and indoor pools, spin classes, yoga classes, and dozens of treatment options. The hotel spa has a Forbes Five-Star rating and has received countless additional recognitions that are very much deserved.
RESTAURANT: Restaurants include formal Itialian dining, a causal dining option both at the main hotel and beach club, a steak house at the Lodge and a candy store with ice cream sundaes for dessert.
BAR: River Bar provides great food and amazing outdoor seating that allows you to watch the sunset over the Marsh. The bar at the beach club allows you to drink while watching the waves.
VIBE: Lily Pultizer at the beach- a casual Southern atmosphere that makes the hotel and grounds, as big as they are, seem warm and intimate.
YEAR OPENED: The hotel was completely revamped and redone in 2006. The original building was knocked down so everything there is only a few years old.
WIFI: Included in the resort fee.
KIDS: The best family vacation one can take. Kids are welcome everywhere but the spa and gym.
LOCATION: The hotel is located in Sea Island, Georgia. Fly to Brunswick Airport and have the hotel pick you up ($80.00) because you will not need a car, or fly to Jacksonville and drive for a little over an hour.
WHEN TO GO: Spring, summer and fall are all great at Sea Island, but summer is definitely the best time to visit.
